A new heating system served both the existing and new wing. The hot water heating system included two (2) central combination gas-oil fired boilers located in the cellar. The cooling system was designed to be capable of controlling humidity in both summer and winter months. In addition, since the museum exhibits were periodically relocated, a system which provided temperature zoning flexibility was required.

A new electric service (4,000 amp, 120 / 208 Volts) was recommended for both the new and existing museum buildings. Recommendations for the plumbing system included the removal of the existing systems and the installation of new sanitary, storm, and domestic water systems.
