The Jewish Home in Jersey City, NJ purchased a two-story, 175,000 SF office building in an office park located in Rockleigh, NJ. The building was gutted, removing the exterior walls and leaving only the structure and floor slabs, and was renovated into a 180 bed nursing home facility. Spaces included ancillary support spaces, rehabilitation center, medical clinic, dental clinic and adult medical day care, characteristic of a skilled nursing home unit. This is a private, high-end facility with all patient rooms being single bed private units. Ancillary support spaces included a full kosher kitchen, a full commercial laundry, a synagogue, central dining and administrative spaces.

The HVAC system consisted of a water source heat pump system with modular gas fired high efficiency boilers and rooftop packaged single zone AC units with gas fired furnaces. In addition, new electric and gas services, a new 450 KW outdoor emergency generator, and two (2) automatic transfer switches were designed.
