The Lion House was vacant since the late 1970’s and much of the structure and mechanical systems were deteriorated.

Scope included MEP/FP design services for the gut renovation of this 43,000 SF facility. The renovated building housed multi-use space for community meetings, lectures, educational activities, and exhibits. It also had the capability of catering events with a new warming kitchen in the basement. Half of the building was dedicated to house the new cutting-edge Madagascar animal exhibit.

The project was awarded LEED Gold Certification.
